Family and cultural traditions are an important part of the Advent and Christmas seasons. One tradition celebrated particularly in the Mexican community is “Las Posadas,” which commemorates the nine months of Mary’s pregnancy. It typically begins Dec. 16 and ends Dec. 24, and features processions with prayer, song and people dressed as religious figures.
